Solidarity to Taleigao

GBA PRESS RELEASE 30th Dec '07: The Goa Bachao Abhiyan in order to express its solidarity to the movement of the people of Taleigao and surrounding villages, shall be joining the Solidarity March scheduled to take place on 31st December, 2006 (Sunday) from 10.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. starting from Oiteant (Taleigao) via Taleigao Church and upto the market square, organized under the banner of “Doriavelo Lokshakti”.

The Goa Bachao Abhiyan expresses its concern about the human rights violations taking place in these villages in the name of “development”.

The Goa Bachao Abhiyan shall also be putting up exhibits of the Regional Plan of Tiswadi as well as two Outline Development Plans (ODP) for Taleigao one having been published on 6.1.2005 and a subsequent ODP with modifications approved by the Government vide Note dated 1.2.2006, for information of the public.

The Goa Bachao Abhiyan appeals to the people to join the solidarity march as scheduled above.
