Chief Minister's RP doublespeak
GBA Press Release:
24th March, 2010: GBA and village groups involved in the preparation of village plans for RP 2021 stated that the Chief Minister stands exposed and that he has no intention of completing the regional plan in 6 months as assured to the the people of Goa on 04 March, 2010. This was clearly indicated in his written reply to Mapusa MLA Francis D'Souza in the Legislative Assembly on Tuesday 24 March, 2010.
The Chief Minister is misleading the people of Goa stating that no time frame can be given as to when the Regional Plan would be finalized. No government projects or undertaking are without a time frame or budgetary allocation.
On ascertaining the status of the Plan from various competent persons, GBA is of the firm view that the Regional plan can be finalized in six months if the government gives it a priority and the TCP Dept recruits competent personnel [Architects and AutoCAD operators] with the concurrence of the sub-committee of the State Level Committee and makes budgetary provisions for the same as was agreed by the Chief Town Planner on 04 March, 2010 in the presence of various people's organizations.
GBA stated the Chief Minister has no political will to finalize the Plan, and wants to make way for back door entry of projects of various politicians and their favorite developers.
On 4th March 2021 the CM had given an assurance to the delegation GBA and village groups protesting outside his residence that the Regional Plan would be ready in six months from 01 March, 2010 and that he would issue instructions after calling meeting of the TCP Board to stop all constructions on eco sensitive zones. Till date no instructions have been issued.
GBA and village groups will meet to discuss a proper response to the backtracking of the CM and the utter contempt and disregard shown to the people of Goa
