Response to Mudhit Gupta

GBA PRESS RELEASE 12th Jan ’07: In response to the allegations made by Mr. Mudhit Gupta,MD Emgee Group, the “Goa Bachao Abhiyan” (GBA) clarifies that it is not in the business of terrorising legal business ventures and development projects.

However, with the help of villagers across Goa, who are now part of the larger GBA movement, we report any activity which could constitute violations like hill cutting, CRZ, filling of low-lying lands, destruction of mangroves etc. to the concerned authorities.

The concerned authorities then take action as per the provisions of the law. The GBA only confines itself to being a watchdog of Goa’s environment and the laws of the land. Anyone who is concerned about the future of Goa should not have a problem with the activities of the GBA which is working towards safeguarding the Goan environment. If anyone has a problem with that, it surely can’t be the concern of the GBA.
