Bambolim hill cutting: GBA to inspect file

BY HERALD REPORTER

PANJIM, NOV 11 - Not willing to lie low, Goa Bachao Abhiyan on Sunday said its members would go to the Town and Country Planning to inspect the file regarding regularisation of hill cutting by the Government in survey Nos 95/1 and 96/1 of the Aldeia de Goa project of M/s Goan Real Estate and Constructions Ltd.
The media highlighted the regularisation of the cutting of slopes at Bambolim where the project is coming up to make way for posh villas some of which have been booked by well-known personalities.

GBA Secretary Patricia Pinto said that the Chief Minister Digambar Kamat has called them for a meeting over the issue tomorrow at 11.30 am.
But before that, Ms Pinto said, she along with some of the members will go to see the Chief Town Planner Morad Ahmed to inspect the file regarding the blatant regularisation of hill cutting in survey Nos 95/1 and 96/1.
However, the GBA expressed skepticism over the file which they want to inspect, as earlier too files pertaining to survey Nos 12/1 and 99/2 with reference to a project of GREC have gone missing. Ms Pinto had applied for the files under the Right to Information Act on August 18.
She said these particular files have gone missing from both the TCP and the panchayat offices.
