News ArticlesBambolim project: order withdrawnNT Staff Reporter Panaji, Jan 25 The additional collector – North Goa, Mr Swapnil Naik today lifted the “stop work” order against the controversial Aldeia de Goa project at Bambolim in accordance with the assurance given to the High Court by the advocate general recently. Mr Naik has also scheduled a hearing for both the parties – the builder and the Goa Bachao Abhiyan on January 31. Mr Naik told The Navhind Times that he will give an opportunity to both sides to present their cases on January 31 and then decide on the issue. He said the “stop work” order was issued after the Goa Bachao Abhiyan led an agitation alleging irregularities in the Bambolim project. Subsequently, the builders had approached the court alleging that they had not been given a hearing before the “stop work” order was issued. So the order has now been lifted to give an opportunity to both sides to present their cases. Meanwhile, GBA sources said they had a meeting today with the Chief Secretary, Mr J P Singh and explained the facts. Mr Singh reportedly told the GBA that he will discuss the issue with the Chief Minister and revert to the GBA. |
