News Articles“Chief Minister, why have you lied?”HERALD GBA Convenor Sabina Martins, who spoke to Herald soon after the meeting today, said GBA and village groups have decided to confront the CM over his U-turn on the finalisation of RP at his Malbhat residence in Margao at 8.30 am on Saturday. We will ask him why he had lied to us on March 4, she stated. She said the CM’s double-speak was exposed in the Assembly in his RP reply and he has not even issued the necessary instructions to the authorities concerned to stop constructions in eco-sensitive zones as assured to a delegation of village groups and GBA on March 4. Sabina said, “The GBA and village groups are very angry and on Saturday the first thing we want to ask the CM is why did he lie to us.” There are several other issues like policy decisions, the TCP Act, etc., for which we will press for a separate appointment from the CM to discuss all of these in entirety, she added. The GBA had called for today’s meeting after the CM in a written reply to Mapusa BJP MLA Francis D’Souza has stated no time-frame could be given to finalise the RP. On March 4 the CM had assured a GBA delegation he would finalise the plan in the next six months. |
