News ArticlesGBA activists receive threats, file complaintsBY HERALD REPORTER In her complaint filed on Wednesday night, Pinto stated that the front door of her house in Campal had two egg splash marks. My husband and I received a call from our son that there was loud banging on the front door. We were on our way to a wedding when the incident occurred. My son called me and we returned home at around 10.45 pm, she stated. Speaking to Herald today Dr Rebello said the threat perception was real. "People who have overheard someone talking that there was a danger to the lives and properties of the GBA activists have brought this to our notice. Without taking any chance we thought it fit to bring this to the notice of the police", he added. Narrating last night’s incident Patricia said she and her husband left for the wedding at 9.45 pm. After my son came back sometime after 10 pm he saw the two egg splashes on the door and called me. On return, my maid told me there was loud banging on the door and the dogs were barking whilst she was taking bath, she said. Police cover was provided at her house after the incident. PI Mahesh Gaonkar said adequate police cordon has been provided at both the complainants’ houses. |
