News ArticlesSGF for IT Habitat; opposes SEZs in stateNT News Service Margao, Dec 11 The Save Goa Front today declared that the party supported the establishment of IT Habitat in the state, as it would create employment to Goans since such manpower was available in the state. The legislative party of the SGF met today to discuss various issues concerning the cause of Goans like the IT, SEZs among others. A statement, signed by the SGF president, Mr Churchill Alemao and Curtorim MLA, Mr Aleixo Reginald Lourenco, said that the party was fully backing the IT Habitat at Dona Paula, but opposed special economic zones in the state. However, SGF reiterated its stand that it would not support any misuse of Goan land, under the garb of IT establishment and that it would stand by the public in such an event. With respect to SEZs the party would adhere to the promises made to the public in the SGF election manifesto, the statement further said. It may be recalled that the PWD Minister and SGF chief, Mr Churchill Alemao was already on record, when he recently said that he supported IT industry per se, as it would provide jobs that will suit Goans. He had also opposed SEZs in the state. |
